    “In every dementia sufferer there is an individual. They shouldn’t lose that just because of their illness.” Wise words and very true. The camaraderie and round-the-clock care your mum received at Critchill Court would have facilitated just that: the opportunity to be herself within a community that understood her needs and could directly relate and empathise.

    I can understand you and your family being torn between keeping her at home and placing her in care, but in the end you did the right thing for her sake. Full marks to you and Critchill Court. And full marks for the excellent production values of this video. 🙂

      Thanks Sainter, we were very lucky that such a great place as Critchill exists.
      There is so much publicity about bad aged care facilities, it’s easy for people to loose sight of the truly great work so many in the dementia/aged care sector are doing.
      The decision to put a loved one in care is never an easy one as you say 🙂
